Database programming

Hi,

I have a website which I built and know a bit about asp variables, includes, objects, etc. I want to start selling items on my site so I need to learn ADO and database programming. I’m either going to use mysql or access.

What I want to achieve is to have a buy button on each item page and once someone clicks on the buy button to go through to pay pal payment, the buy button will change to “sold”. I can’t find any tutorials on how to do this.

Does anyone know of any good websites or books which will talk me through how to do this?

first learn about ADO and database stuff.

If i'm using asp can I use mySQL or is Access only compatible?

If I can use mySQL, which version do I need (as on the mySQL site there seems to be loads of different versions and products)?

As far as i know, u can use any database u want with asp.
Ans yes, u can use mySql.

Regarding the version, i m not too sure, but i think u shud use the latest version.
