Originally posted by : sam (theoneisme@hotmail.com)
I am having trouble on using Visual interdev 6.0 working on the Personal Web Server. Hope someone that can help me to solve the problem.

I can't create a new project using visual interdev. Even i have runing my PWS 4.0 and do provide the web server name, and it still said web server not found. And i do follow exactly what the refference page from microsoft ask to work on.

Before i install my Visual interdev, i have my Frontpage 2000 and personal web Server loaded on the machine. Thus when i have my Interdev software, i install visual interdev, and all of the server components, except frontpage extension and NT optional pack, since i already have that 2 on my machine. And the frontpage that i have is 2000 which is newer version if compare the software come with the visual interdev CD. Thus i decided not going to install that, and the PWS 4.0.

Just wondering is that a problem that causing me can't open a new project by using interdev with PWS 4.0?

Thank!

Sincerely
Sam

You need to make sure you have the Frontpage extensions installed for your PWS. Also, check your TCP/IP Network Settings under the DNS tab and the host name should be your server name. Sometimes that will cause problems if your host name is different (if you log onto a different domain than what is listed in the DNS host name box). Email me if you have any more questions.

------------
sam at 2/22/2000 2:19:16 PM

I am having trouble on using Visual interdev 6.0 working on the Personal Web Server.
