    Question OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21'

    A user is getting the following error message;

    Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21' value, no work was done
    Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status

    then gives the page address and 'line 1127'

    I have both English and French versions of the form and yet only the french (really only field labels and error messages) gives this error message. the form supporting english users works without issue.

    Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Here's line 1127.

    Code:
    rsAddComments.Fields("PhoneNumber") = Request.Form("areaCode") & "-" & Request.Form("number1") & "-" & Request.Form("number2")
    I found reference on the web about setting the cursor type = 3 and did so...but I'm not sure that's the solution

    Code:
    'Set the cursor type to "adLockOptimistic"
    'rsAddComments.CursorType = 2  changed to support montreal
    rsAddComments.CursorType = 3

    'Set the lock type of the cursor to locked so that when the table is updated, no one else can access the table.

    rsAddComments.LockType = 3
    set rsAddComments.ActiveConnection = adoConn
    rsAddComments.CursorLocation = 2

    'open recordset with the sql query.
    rsAddComments.Open strSQL, adoConn

    'now, we want to let the recordset know that we want to add a new record.

    rsAddComments.AddNew

    'rsAddComments.Fields("EmployeeID") = Request.Form("EmployeeID")

    ...and so on...
