asp.netting it
hi.
i am really trying to make the move to asp.net. when i look for encouraging reasoning...i keep reading stuff like this: --------------------------------- Better language support Programmable controls Event-driven programming XML-based components User authentication, with accounts and roles Higher scalability Increased performance - Compiled code Easier configuration and deployment Not fully ASP compatible ---------------------------------- i am definitely making the move... at the moment however...its seems to make everything overly complicated... i know this cant be the reality of it.. so what i want to know...from experienced asp.netters... is there some 'point' in the transistion learning curve that the light bulb lights up and it all becomes clear that this is a much better and improved way to do things than asp? ![]() |

It's just like anything else, the more you practice the better you'll get.

better does not mean more simple. nothing is for free as we all know, and the price for all the things .NET can give is that it's quite complicated, as you said. of course that while you work with it and practice the coding it becomes easier, but it would never be simple as classic ASP in my opinion so it demands more time and effort learning it. but believe me, it's worth such effort.
