Rant - Bank Holidays
Well here we go again,.. its another bank holiday and i'm stuck in work Its the nicest day we've had in a long time,.. the sun is shining,.. the seagulls are out in there masses sh'ting over my car. and the food van i usually visit is closed.

I really wish i hadn't drunk that bottle of red wine last night.

Don't ya just love bank holidays

When AOG says a bank holiday, he's referring to a number of our public holidays that we have in the UK throughout the year...

They're referred to as bank holidays as they used to be forced holidays for banks and financial institutions. Nowadays they're general public holidays.

So, you don't have to work for a bank to get the day off...

They're normally pretty notorious for bad weather, but the one yesterday was pretty good all over the country...

Not so good if you have to work on them though...

Reminds me of going to the store this weekend. It's currently being remodeled. I needed to pick up some dental floss and after spending about 20 minutes in the dental aisle looking for it, this was the brief conversation I had with a worker, when I asked where it was...

Me: Excuse me, do you work here?

Employee: Yes.

Me: Can you tell me where the dental floss is? I can't find it anywhere in this aisle (referring to the dental aisle I'd been pacing back and forth in for 20 minutes).

Employee: No sir, it's not in this aisle. It's in the garden center.

Me: Of course, that makes perfect sense...(wanders off towards the garden center, shaking his head in absolute bewilderment).

Okay Memnoch, I can match you on that one. I worked in a store that is much like a Super Wal-Mart. I was in the Toy Department verifying some prices against what we had in the computer. This is my conversation with a customer:

Customer: Do you work here? (You can always tell someone is ignorant when they ask this Of course I do! Can't you tell by the uniform I'm wearing!??)

Me: Yeah

Customer: Where's the milk?

Me: In the dairy department....over by all the grocery items...

Customer:...oh...

Me:

I really wanted to tell her it was between the G.I. Joe's and the Power Rangers in the next aisle...
