Firefox, for now at least. more options, more security and much more developer tools. you didn't say what you chose, by the way... ![]() |

Me, I'm a Firefox man.
I used to use IE just for the sole purpose that it is default. Then, I gathered the courage to download Firefox and found out how much it rocks. I love its spyware/popup/adware blocking abilities, in addition to addons, extensions, themes, etc. It's by far (in my opinion) the best browser out there right now. However, there is no doubt in my mind that IE7 will try to match Mozilla... |

Have to say I'm smitten with Firefox. The plugins are excellent and I've finally uninstalled IE for the first time in years

can you uninstall IE..? I thouhgt MS force you to use it in virtually application i.e. outlook/express, windoes explorer etc... Personally I like netscape, all the silly skins turned off... it reminds me of when I first started using t'interweb, back in 1990 or so! *looks back with rose tinted glasses to a time when everything was pure, and cgi was programmed in assembler!* |

judging from this thread, IE does not exist! weird, considering IE still hold 85% of the market.

That 85% accounts for the people who aren't big into computers like us. I mean think about it, since most of us spend 23.5 hours of our day on computers, we learn what the best of everything is and how to change/adapt things to our standards.
I really don't even think most people know that they can use a different browser. In fact, most people probably don't even know what a browser is! Because of this, they just use what comes default on their systems. As a matter of fact, until I started coding like crazy, I didn't know what a browser was. :P |

lol
but now you know... I agree that most people simply use whatever come default. and also Microsoft always takes the best from its opponents and applies it in their own products... IE7 is going to be imitation of the Firefox as far as I've heard. Well, you can't say Microsoft don't have very good business wisdom. ![]() |

GBrowser is supposidly Firefox but with a Google theme and related extensions built-in.
I'd nominate Opera, as it has always stuck to spec and is more conformant than Firefox, and has had MDI and tabbed browsing over 3 years ago (although it was the first "mainstream" browser with tabs, it wasn't the first overall) The only things I've got against Opera are: a) Weee bit too expensive b) I'm not overly keen on its use of propriety widgets c) ..and the browser chrome... it seems too "puffed up" d) it seems more sluggish than Firefox or IE, even though timing it proved otherwise. Maybe its just predjudice on my part? *shrugs* |
