Browser base game..

Any of you lot thought about making a online game being a online game fan myself i would love to get involved somehow

I thought about it. A friend and I were actually working on the concept and certain details. But seeing how browser based games need a lot of maintaining we decided to put it on hold to work on other projects first.

I developped a role playing community that has been running for about 5 years now. We don't have as many active members as we used to but even though our game doesn't have an actual engine (to battle, make money, or another of the sort) it still requires a lot of maintaining so I can just imagine how it is with a full fledged MMO.

It's a lot of work to balance things out >.<

I think it will be an awesome idea to get the members here to work on a game like that, split everything up into components and give it to members who are interested

That's a pretty good idea, but make sure to only get people who are really dedicated and are willing to follow suit with the project :P

But having a community work on a project like this is the best way to not get discouraged half way there.

indeed i know im new here but from what i can tell their are alot of people here who know each other, as long as their are not too many cook's it would work.

All u need is a few experienced coders and a few people for graphics / concept (hell i have enough ideas to keep people busy for years) and next thing u know 1 game built, funded by certain upgrades u would need to purchase for minimal exspence (just for the monthly server costs)

I think we should get a mod to make a thread with a poll and some input from the other users to see what the rest of the members think

Good idea, i know it would take alot of work and planning etc but in time we could get thier

what qualities and expertise could you bring to the project Sluap?

concept and graphics and i play online games all the time, im not saying i would be involved i just think it would be a good idea as i love online games, and with the experience here the end result could be excellent.

Well start throwing some game ideas out and lets see who's interested in such a project.

well i could type for ages etc but basically a MMoRPG the kind where u kill beasts have hunts for special items build Kigdoms wage war on other kingdoms.

i'm game...errr no punn intented....RPG is probably best suited for asp ...can't see getting away with anything else...except perhaps a "fantasy" sports setup

by fantasy sports u mean like manageing a football team, trading players buying facilities etc?
