Well.. I want to have and a new desktop..
What would you choose for a desktop? Let's say for a pentium 4 3.2 processor.. I don't care about graphics.. ( a motherboard with graphics circuit would be ok? And if yes, which one?) So, Which motherboard? What HD? power supply? memory? Case? ![]() |

To suggest a pc spec we really need to know what it is going to be used for!! And your budget !!!! Why go for a Intel? when amd's are just as good if not better and also cheaper?!! As for graphics on board, i would say keep them seperate. Just my personal preference. I can't be too specific as i dunno what you wanna use it for but generally i would say Motherboard: ABit or MSI HD: Maxtor and as big as you can afford! PowerSupply, the quietest you can afford Memory, Crucial or Kingstong have always worked for me! And get the biggest stick you can afford!! (see a pattern here!) Case...personaly choice!

hey RF! budget.. let's say up to $1500(maximum) including monitor(I think EIZO flexscan L568 will be my choice).. I want to be fast and quite! I don't need a big HD, 120G would be ok..).. I'll keep things and in my old one.. You think I need a seperate graphics card.. Which one for a person who doesn't really need it? Can you be more specific now? ![]() |

I bought such computer:
------------------------------ Intel 775 64Bit ASUS 3.0GHZ 1600GB S.ATA --Mother Board: GIGABYTE GA-8I915P Duo --FSB speed: 800 MHz --S.ATA: four exits --PCI Express 2x8 --PCI x3 --USB 2.0 - 8 exits --Hyper-Threading support --Dual channel DDR 2 support --memory: 1 GB, 533 MHz --Hard Disk: W.D/HITACHI , S.ATA , 8 MB cache, 160 GB --Graphic Card: GeForce PCX-6200 ------------------------------ it's very fast, and so far it's really great. seperate graphics card is vital - onboard cards are sure recipe for blue screens of death. if you don't plan to play any computer games, go for the old versions of GeForce - by now they should be very cheap. |

yeah, what shadow has looks good in general, although i would still stick with a AMD with a Abit motherboard
My experience is that they are excellent. |

You are really helpful..
I have some questions.. RF, if I choose Abit, which one? The same for the Maxtor you mentioned.. And of course the same about the memory.. What about HD Western Digital 120G 8MB cache, SATA II.. Is it good? Power Supply? I found one.. TAGAN TG420-U02 I-XEYE.. Is that good? |
