Change the name of Code Help and Programming Help forums - yes or no?

The current name "Code Help" is misleading, and it leads newcomers to post questions - which belongs to existing forums e.g. ASP or .NET - in there, while its original goal is to hold useful code samples.
Same for Programming Help - new comers does not understand on first glance it's meant only for stuff which does not fit into the other forums. this forum is also more fit under the Programming section, in my opinion.

Please vote whether you prefer to keep the current names, change them to the names I give below or suggest new name of your own... any vote is welcome and it's required so the admins will act.

1. Code Bank - Contains sample code and scripts using several different platforms for your own use.

2. General Programming Help and Advice Forum - Contains programming questions and discussions relating to advice and solutions that do not fit into any of the other forums.

but can we please move the "General Programming Help and Advice Forum" up to the top PROGRAMMING forum area as i think it is best suited there ! Otherwise we will still get lazy or noobies just posting anywhere !!

If there is going to be a code bank, I would think that it should be one where there are no replies, as the code bank should be just that. A place where you get code to do various tasks.
Only if corrections to the code are to be made, then they can be added by a moderator.
Questions regarding such code, can be made in proper forum and should make reference to the code bank.

Code help is Very Very misleading as ppl think that it's for general code help of any kind.

yea i think lewy has a point. The thread need to be closed other than moderations by the auther !!

no, I think it's better to leave it open for two reasons:
1. ppl having problems with the code or comments about it will be able to post it.
2. non moderator members who wish to add code sample will be able to do that.

the only probs i see tho shadow is

with 1) The threads get VERY long and unreadable. Maybe a forum where people can discuss the code bank code!

with 2)this is cool as long as the mods / a coder for the relevent language keeps an eye on what is posted

Wizards names are better. Code Help is about as vague as you can get. Having a code bank would be ub0r-useful, seeing as though ASP code snippets are sparser than PHP snippets (on the whole). Having a bank of scripts here could offer a relevant vantage point when replying to common threads.

I agree with the change of name for the code help forum completely. I know I've spent many an hour (not recently though, shame on me!!) dredging through the threads there to try and weed out innapropriate ones and place them in the correct forums.

Having a repository for code samples is a great idea, and can be referenced in many of the responses made to posts that ask the same question, or slight variation thereof, over and over again.
