anyone used coldfusion? any good? I dunno much about it, just wondered if it was worth knowing...

I had to use it in a job everal years ago. I hated it. I have to say
that the general opinion was divided.

Experienced programmers hated it
Newbies loved it.

We were using what is now a very elderly version, so I would hope
it has moved on since then

I seem to remember that it made some fairly complex things very
easy to do and conversly, it made simple things complex. For the
life of me I can't think of an example now tho
It handled every thing we needed to do.

I would prefer PHP or .NET to coldfusion anyday.

We ran it on a windows platform, dunno about Linux.

ok, well i already know PHP. Trying to find time and energy to learn .net but i just can't get into it...

thanks for your help. Sounds like i will just leave cold fusion alone !

done it just can't remember much of it !! Got ASP.Net unleased and just can't find the time or the motivation at the moment!

I'm also interested in learning ColdFusion just because I like to learn languages as a hobby. Anyone know of some good online tutorials for CF? I'd like to feel my way around before I dumped some cash down on a book!

i haven't really looked into it much, but when i was browsing for info i think i saw some on the macromedia site, might be worth checking there.
