Contoversial or What!!!
Okay, I got a cracker here from my little country that if the proposal gets the green light then I can see it having a butterfly effect across the globe.
Today, a motion was called for all methadone-dependant takers to have a contraceptive added to their methadone to prevent addicts having children. Now this brings to the fore all sorts of human rights issues if this motion is passed. But I do honestly believe that this is a good proposal. People who are solely dependant on hard drugs are in my view - not responsible parents. This would stop children being taken into care or being passed from pillar to post within the drug users family. Or even tradegy happening when a child dies while their parents are under the influence. What sort of life do we offer a child anyway who is born into drug-dependant mother/fathers existence. It would also be less of a strain on our executives resources and less Social Workers would be needed to intervene when negligence becomes too much. It reminds me of the Victorians and their consumption of GIN. "Mothers Ruin" they called it - the government stepped in then and the first licensing laws came into place to stamp it out. Many cries of ludicrous where heard from our MP's over this subject but when the cameras went to the streets a vast majority agreed with the proposal. Myself included. Leads me to believe that our political leaders may have called this one wrong. I would like to hear your views- if any - on this topic. |

Sounds like the discussion they had here when dealing with repeat sex offenders...forcible castration was actually considered as part of the punishment...It never panned out though.

lol that's kinda sick dude! Well...have at it...someone's gotta do it! Hey...so if a guy get's castrated...does he lose sex drive or just the ability to reproduce? If just the ability to reproduce, that's sorta helpin the cause. Now they don't have to worry about reproducing.

Y'know never really thought about that -- if the sex-drive is mentally motivated, castration wouldn't really stop a sex-offender repeating. Merely have them seek other options. God what a conversation... ![]() |

lol weird...but interesting! If the sex-offender still was able to receive pleasure from it..why would he stop. I looked up the definition...and it is the removal of the testicles (or ovaries in case of a female). I'm not sure what exactly that would affect though (with exception to reproduction). |

Yeah I too have just googled it as well, it seems that even with the removal of a man's crown jewels - dependant on the individual sex drive is never vanquished and arousal can still be achieved. So its not really an alternative merely a deterrant. Snip Snip. ![]() |
