Do you fold?

Ok, you may be aware of the new folding hack added to the forum if not then it is related to the little blue things next to my green blobs

Folding is a process which uses your spare cpu cycles to process data for medical research! So it is worth doing! It does not affect the running of your machine so get folding

I've been following the threads and links in the suggestions forum but haven't been able to get my head around how it works; like how can it use your cpu and not affect the running of the machine? and how even using the cpu cycles relates to medical research

ok, it uses the spare cpu cycles of your processor, the ones you are not using how exactly i am afraid i have no idea, just how the programs works and does work well. The only trouble i have had is when i use football manager 2005, so i just quit the folding app when i am playing games I think it is all to do with the priority or the process. Just as with any other process running on your machine.

How it helps medical research,, maybe this quote from the site helps:

It seems like a complex thing, install this, then install that to hide this, then install the thingymabob to veiw your thingies.

What exactly did you install and how much maintenance type work does it take?(how much of your time does it take once its up and running)

It is all very very easy!

Download the software and install it, input your username and the team code 12912 and you are away never have to do anything else, it starts when your puter is turned on, just leave it there to run !

If you want to have the folding blue icons appear in your aspfree info then follow the link in my sig to add your number, which again is really easy

hmmm, your number is not coming up for me either, well keep folding and once you have completed your first WorkUnit (WU) try again, maybe you need some stats there first !

Is it bad that it says the WU will take over 10 days to complete? That seems very large compared to other stats

It could just be a big work unit which is not a problem, or it could be you have a slow or busy pc. 10 days is not a huge problem, just let it get going and see how it goes some units are bigger than others
