Excel help required
I was just wondering if this was possible and the example I'll show is much smaller scale than what I'd like to do.
Circled in red is data posted into the spreadsheet from an outside source. Circled in blue is a permanent table which shows each name and from the pasted data calculates the improvement. The names circled in blue are fixed and never change. The names circled in red could potentially change order each time it is pasted. Thats where the problem comes in. It would be simple if each of the names in the red circle were fixed too but their not. As the names change position frequently I was wondering if it were somehow possible to match the names in blue circle with the names in the red circle. Thus making it possible to use the data in the red circle to change the values in the blue circle. ![]() Hopefully someone understood all the red circle/blue circle nonsense. I don't care if its not possible but I would like to know and if is possible I'd like to know how :P Thanks, B&W |

hey B&W, i think i understand but tell me if i am going off on one here.
I presume the numbers are changing but the order is static then could you not associate by cell id? does that help or make sense? RF

Everything in blue is static. In red the order could be:
Matt John Lee Neil or Neil Lee John Matt it changes |

Its just a small private thing I would like to do to keep track of ratings improvements in a game I play so I can spot a fast improving player and grab a bargain
