Flash websites arnt updatable easily.

Hi guys, am i right in thinkning that designging whole websites in flash isnt a very good idea, as they are a nightmare to update, and also how would you incorporate asp into flash websites or cant this be done.

flash normally looks great in my opinion, but indeed makes updating more difficult and time consuming.

You can quite easily pass data from ASP to Flash, so that means
you can have it's content pulled from a db, and therefore easily
updated. As for layout, no, that's not easy to update at all... :/

IMO, Flash sucks though, and you shouldn't really be using it. It's
often very ugly and can take ages to download for people with a
slower net connection. It is incredibly inaccessable, and your text
will not be indexed by search engines, as they can't read it...

deansaddigh agrees: thanks

flash is kinda like marmite....you either love it or you hate it
personally if it is used in the right places then my opinion is that it can be very benificial to a site, but i wouldn't use it for a while site personally. And if it not designed well then it can look tacky and can be slow...

just my 0.02£ worth

as an introduction page it can look very nice, but be aware to provide a "skip intro" link so users which don't have macromedia or don't wanna wait long for waiting can skip loading....
