Benji Use Smp for Folding u have got all dual's so u can get smp folding for you but these Wu's are meant for machines that fold 24x7 i.e: they have a very short deadline.

Nothing fishy going on I use the SMP core for folding, but you do need to be careful of deadlines if you do not run the machines 24/7 or if they are not fast enough to complete with some time to spare - if you pass the dealine you lose the points.

Also, using the standard core there are 15pt WU's, I get them on my one machine that folds with the standard core.

Do not use the graphics versions, use the console one to get the most possible points.

I fold on mostly on Q6600 and use the affinity changer to run 2 SMP cores. I run 1 SMP on my E6600.

Hope that helps, no majic or tricks just some good machines consistent folding - and before you know it you are in the top ranks

If you have any of suitable NVidia or ATI graphics cards the new GPU2 client if supposed to also be good, it is supposed to bring in more points than running a second SMP on a quad.

I second that thought. I tested my 8800gt for 2days and the gains were high. But unfortunately i don't keep my pc on 24x7 so the wu's passes the deadline

You should be able to get good points while the GPU is folding and stop without losing WU's and points.

When you are ready to stop, there is an option in the toolbar icon to pause when done, so you can have it finish the WU it is on and not start another. Once it uploads you will get the credit and not waste any incomplete WU's.

well, I have 3 pc's on the smp.... what a jump.... will put a couple more on today

Good, ppd should take a nice jump.

Make sure the machine(s) you a switching can complete the SMP in time, expired WU's don't get points.

for some reason my average jumped from around 200 daily to 500-600..... I fold
only on two computers (that I'm aware of) and those computers have not been
changed by any means.... anyone have any idea how this could happen?

did the point calculation system changed? is this happening to everyone?

There are Wu's with 638+ points the project numbers are 3860,61,63 &64 that fold actually faster then the generic 225 one's and there were a stream of them coming so that's the reason for your Ppd jump i guess

There are the occasional nice ppd projects that give a boost to your ppd, they are a nice little surprise when they come along.

Yep John they do last they came in form of 400-450 points Wu's. abt 4 months back.
