it will take you time to get more flowers - the second is given when you reach
10,000 folding points and each WU worth 100 points in average - so you need
to complete about 100 WU's before you get your second flower.

that might be the avg but i keep getting 33 pointers

that's very weird, the lowest I got so far is 85 points, and took less than day
to complete.

that is sooooo unfair !!!!

My current folding status..

PC1. - Frames 5000 Time Left 1 day
PC2 - Frames 500 Time Left 8 hrs
PC3 - Frames 20000 Time left 2 days
PC4 - Frames 2000 Time left ? Win 98 no Timer.

I got 273 points for my first two 250 frames and 500
It seems strange though b/c my slower pcs keep downloading these really large ones and my 64 bit pc keeps getting 250 - 500 frame WU's? But anyway at this rate Ill have my second flower soon enough

as far as I know, the work units are chosen at random, connection/computer speed
have no effect. as for the Win98 you can check the log file and make your own
estimation: the log file is updated every 1% so take the difference between each
percent and you can calculate how much time it's going to take.

Maybe they are dependant on the complexity of the WU, I've had my pc with the same WU for the last 5 days and it's still not done

how much steps/frames is it? make sure the F@H core is working, and that only one
instance is working. maybe you have something that eat your CPU as well. 5 days
are way too much!

also install FaHMon and that will tell you how long left (estimated) i find that helpful

FahMon can also monitor the folding effort on other machines attached to the same network, as long as the folders in question are viewable to network computers.

talking about FahMon, what are the reasons for Orange indicator?
those are the reasons I already know:
1. CPU is being used by other processes, thus F@H core is not getting enough CPU time.
2. F@H core working, but for some reason won't report.
on one of my machines, none of the above apply - core is working at 50% (dual) and
log file contains reports as usual - and still, FahMon show it in orange rather than green.

I haven't really gotten a good feel for that stoopid orange indicator... I'm thinking it goes orange when the machine is not folding as fast as it was or something, and red when there's an actual halt.

if i take a puter off the network it goes red for me too! So i guess the orange might have something to do with not being able to read the data correctly...just a stab in the dark!
