Forum Comp Help
Hi
This might not be the place to ask, but I thought I would give it a go. I have a site that has a forum, the forum unit now is unused, but to be honest I haven't promoted it. To get it started I want to give free gifts away for a certain number of posts, but need som good terms and conditions to make sure I don't get 100 one word posts and people saying where is my free gift. Does anyone have any idea of a template I could use to set this up? I am really poop at setting the wording up etc. Any advice appriciated. Dave

I may be way out of my mind here, but it's a suggestion nonetheless. Perhaps if you have a seperate count field in the database, a post count for every thread they post and a post count for those with actual content.
Then, check each post, using the len function. If the post is greater than so many characters, add 1 to both fields, else, add 1 to the field that counts every thread. I'm sure it's not the best way, but it's an idea. Hope this helps at least a little. JMH
