FrontPage: Your Say!
I haven't ever used FrontPage but I have seen two problems over the past week that have been nothing short of pathetic.
How do you feel about FrontPage? Would you use it or do you think FrontPage is a weak answer to programming?

FrontPage isn't an answer to programming!! I started learning about websites with FrontPage and my sites were ok but they were all html and i soon moved to dreamweaver. For people that are not programmers then frontpage is ok for home sites and stuff but anything else.....you need dreamweaver ![]() just my opinion... oh and we need a poll ![]() |

This posting was merely a very very very long stream of swearwords. It was aimed at Frontpage, Dreamweaver, NetObects Fusion and anything else of that ilk.
It has been censored due to the extreme levels of offence that was likely to be caused. The post can be summed up in the phrase. Code it yourself. ![]() |

each to their own. I find dreamweaver a usefull program to use when designing websites and programming the PHP cus it offers coloured syntax for PHP (i don't use it to create any of my php or mysql code) and it is good when working on lots of different sites. RF |

Dreamweaver is OK if you only use the code view to write your code, but it seems like overkill. I keep plugging tsw webcoder (as it seems to be ignored when ever editors are reviewed). Its free, color codes various languages including VBScript, PHP, Javascript, HTML and more. Has built in code libraries, a built in FTP client with the ability to edit directly from a remote site.
What ever you do, don't use the design mode though ![]() |

LOL - Know what you mean. I keep looking at others but none of them seem to match up. Don't get me wrong, its not perfect, but its the best I've found.
When I moved to my current job, I managed to get every coder there to transfer to webcoder within a couple of months. Merely by using it. which means everyone now uses the same of software instead of eveyone using a different bit... |

Why is design mode bad?
Does it include CSS? Please give me a list of goodies about it as I may start using it? Just started using Dream Weaver and it's OK. Not fantastic just OK. |

Design mode is bad because it screws around with your code, produces bloated and non standards complient code. Oh and it has been known to crash.
Yes it includes code libs for CSS. Simplest way to find out about it is to have a look ![]() |

Of course! Always suspect about installing things as the speed of both of my PC's are annoying me and it is getting worse by the week. That's why I asked. Cheers Elija. ![]() |
