Did a goggle search - I see I got the pronounciation wrong - Sheqels, see the old adage is correct - "Its not what you know, its who you know" when it comes to getting a job. He knew what he was doing when he hired you. |

actually Shekels is more widely used as far as I know.
now challange: find and post here the actual symbol representing our currency... (e.g. like € for euro) reward: reputation, of course. ![]() |

Nah; start on Monday or there abouts so can spend today doing nowt!
![]() Question is; someone is going to take my role over (I just kind of did programming for the department because I could.... not because it was my job) should I give this new person my development code or just the live stuff and let them work out what's going on with it (Bearing in mind that I tend to not comment my code)? not sure I understand your question... what you mean by "my development code"?
if you've written codes for the company, it's very good idea that you'll somehow explain them to the new programmer otherwise the company will be stuck with code they can't change, not without lots of efforts anyway... ![]() |

Tis exactly the point.
There is a ton of "live" code that is used day to day and I have a server which I use for development. Should I delete everything from that (After making a copy on my memory stick ) or should I let the new guy have it?At the minute i don't feel too inclined to help them as my current boss tried to block this move. |

in my opinion you should not delete the development server files.
if someone was bad to you, it does not mean you have to be bad to him. of course there are limits and exceptions however this case doesn't sound like an extreme offensive against you, plus you'll be hurting the new employee (who will have to work harder) not your boss... |
