Graffiti
Normaly I take the car to work, which is a 27 mile drive to Glasgow everyday. The other day I took the train and noticed a lot of cool graffiti tags on the run in to Glasgow Central Station. I mean some of it was really really good. I'm not to sure of the name of the area it was in but if I get a chance I'd like to post some pics of it. I know they say graffiti is a scourge but this was really good and IMO helped brighten up a pretty bleak looking area (industrial).

Even though graffiti is typically unwanted...the artists are really amazing with their work. Especially since all they are using is spray paint most the time...

Not too long ago there was a vigilante type out here who shot some graffiti "artists". I think I am on the side of the vigilante.
My fence has maybe 20-30 grafitti "eradications". All taxpayers pay an appreciable amount for grafitti removal. Basically grafitti IS a scourge, primarily it's gang bangers marking their territory pretty much like a male dog does, by pissing on something.

in my place it's common to call and pay to graffiti artists to paint on walls
or even whole buildings - maybe it's the same in this case i.e. the graffiti you saw isn't spontaneous act but really work of art.. ![]() |

I agree there are boundaries for it - resedential areas should be off limits and also there was a difference between what I saw and kids scrawling there tag or obscenities on a wall. The place I saw the graffiti was an industrial area and looked really bleak and like I said before the graffiti helped brighten it up. What about the mural graffiti in N.I. it marks the history of the place.

This guy is pretty famous for his graffiti.
Think he's from Bristol (my old stomping ground!! ) so originally saw his work there. I agree, some of his work is awesome.http://www.banksy.co.uk/menu.html

I've seen this site before - he's changed it a bit - it used to have famous English paintings of the countryside and he added burnt out cars and shopping trolleys in the river. The guy's really amazing - his work gets you thinking because sometimes its quite provocative. |

Another one of my favourites
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertai...rts/3537136.stm How do you "covertly" cement a 20 foot tall, 3 1/2 tonne, £22,000 bronze statue in the centre of London!??!?! Brilliant... ![]() |

I'm sorry, I thought this topic was about grafitti but there hasn't been a post about grafitti except mine.
