Just joined as am learning ASP at the moment for client support work, (background in u2, Visual Basic, and php). Why on earth sites don't go .net is beyond me ... but whatever.

So get ready for some dumb questions l guess.

Also need some ASP/ASP.net hosting (approx 500mg, 20-30 bandwidth), so far haven't found anything that caters for small (soho my wife and myself) semi commercial clients (we do a lot of free stuff and some chargeable). Will check out the listed hosting companies in the coming days

Guess my web dev background is in linux/php/mysql but ASP sure looks easy (similar to Vb6 l guess).

Guess will meet the regulars during the next few days/weeks....

Heya -

Welcome! I'm a noobie over here myself, and like yourself, I'm the MySQL/PHP/linux persuasion. I used to do ASP long ago, but have found PHP more efficient at getting my projects wrapped up with expedition.

I agree w/you on the .NET. It kinda seems like a no-brainer for IIS-friendly sites to be .NET vs. straight asp. Perhaps it is a cost issue?
