those are called rep points,
for each 100 points you get 1 extra rep power, and also for each year your a member.
then for each 100 points you get a new bulb, then after 500 points, they start
glowing green, and then when you get 2500 points you get your first orange bulb, then
you have to get another 500 points to get another orange, and I think after 3 or 4 oranges
you get blue ones for each 1000 rep points or something like that

it should all be in the FAQ
