|
How come there isn't a Private Members Section?
Like what if I wanted to discuss an awesome idea, but only to trusted members/regulars? A private Members Section would solve that.
 or What if there is one and I just don't know about it cuz it's TOP secret

at the moment we dont have such a forum, there is one
for the admins/mods of the forum though, but that one doesn't count  You can try to add the suggestion in the suggestion/feedback section and see what the admins say

Icon, you have 130 odd posts, and your regular, but some guy with 500 odd posts that just comes here for answers, as what do you classify him? [edit]remember, most ppl that post in the lounge are the regulars [/edit]

I believe it would discourage our newbies from participating in
the conversations/discussions, with our other regular members. If there is something private that should be said from one member to another, the Private Messaging works just fine It would be really sad to see a 'Only Certain Members' section. For more chat like messages, there's always the Shoutbox

Leave it to Lewy Lewy to make a strong point. I agree... to take a step further, what would be the credentials to be in a Private Members thead---would DR be the judge?

The idea in general might have some bright spots.
We can have 18+ Forum, to discuss "adult only" stuff. Saw this in one of the forums I used to visit and it worked fine. We can have "Out House" forum where anyone can blow their steam off without getting banned, like DevShed and DevHardware have. Apart of that, Private Messages are indeed more than enough to discuss private stuff and if more than one member are involved, there is always Instant Messaging programs.
