How to deal with being subbed out??
Hey there e1...
LTNS! Reason being is due to my being contracted out to another company only to pay $70/hour for my services to my employer. Am a bit aggravated and frustrated.... Not only do I not get to interact w/e1 here (which mind you, allows me to increase my knowledge!) but I'm taking home a small fraction of that amount!!! I do not get sick leave/pay. I do not get holiday pay. I do not have a 401k. I do not have anything!!! Please help me through this difficult period and tell me that I'm doing the right thing... NOT!!! Anybody know of reputable portals for telecommute jobs? Arrrrrrrrrgh!!! Kind Regards- Jamie |

i hear ya TC ... i went through that. my only saving grace is that the company i was hired out to hired me full time at more than double what my old company was paying me. like you, though, i wish i could find a good telecommute job. good luck with your search.

Sounds like a bummer - my advice, do as Mehere did, put in a fine performance, be friendly and make them think that without you then their definitely missing out -- not saying that's what exactly happened to Mrs Mehere but judging from mehere's spontaneously witty comments then I'd back my home on it.
Oh and being good at what you do as well, but we already know how skilled you are TC. Time to show the suits just what you can do TC. Its called frustration for a reason y'know. |

Thanks for the advice! Actually I was hoping for the same (being hired in)...
The company is the 2nd largest company in the USA that tests medical instruments... They have only TWO programmers/IT people on staff. One being a partner of the company. Will try my best to show my stuff! In the meantime... I'll grin and bear it. ![]() Off to see the Wizard! |

Jamie-
Being in a contract has its pros and cons... as I am in one now. Getting paid a fraction of what your emplorer is being paid can be tough to swallow, but hang in there. There is a plan for everyone and your time is coming. I am sure they feel your worth and all that you bring to the table. The right opportunity will present itself and you will then make the best decision for you and your family. Smile, it is Friday!
