Tis true, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually delete the thread, just tells you it's going to

Wait, I thought you could delete your own thread?? I deleted a small thread I started a while back ago. Unless the rules on this has been changed?

nope, the rules haven't changed as far as i know... every member can delete posts/threads he posted but every moderator can still see the deleted post and undelete it.
in order to delete your post, you have to Edit it, and you can click the radio button Delete Message and give reason. attached is the screenshot... |

Same here, the delete option has 'disappeared' for me as well! So it must just be a moderator function. |

oh, sorry guys... forgot something. you can delete your own threads/posts only when you're Contributing User - that means you're member for at least 90 days and posted at least 100 posts. until then, you can only Edit your posts and write in there something like "deleted because [reason]" - but note it can't be undone by moderators. |

no problem... anyway as you can see you do have Reputation Power already - I think the treshold is 50 posts no matter how long you're member for getting power of 1. after this, every 1000 posts or one year of membership give one more point.
