I have the worst luck

I am starting to think that I have offended the gods and need to sacrifice a virgin. This summer I've had:

1) Someone try to break into my house and cars while I was sleeping (I got them arrested when they were trying to kick in my front door)

2) Bought a security system to rid my life of #1 - $1800

3) PowerBook G4 hinge broke

4) Being on edge from #1 still, a locust (the big ones) ran into my storm door at night when I was working on the computer which startled me because they aren't exactly quiet about it... I jumped up thinking it was another burglar and knocked a glass of water onto the PowerBook mentioned in #3.... hasn't been right since. Need a new laptop?... $$

5) A/C unit blew 2 weeks ago and I was withough A/C for a week in the 90+ degree heat - $1840 to fix

6) Ceiling fan receiver broke the day after the A/C stopped leaving us with no relief from the weather - $50 for electrician to fix and $25 for new receiver

7) Elderly woman passes out while driving up my street and runs full speed into my truck, which is crunched onto my mustang... notice I said "on."... $$ All my cars are in the shop for a couple weeks... decent rental though. I have good pics of the accident for liability reasons. Woman was jacked up and had a seizure in my foyer after I pried her door open to get her out.

8) Tonight I'm driving from Northern VA and I get a call from ADT (mentioned in #2) because the motion detector in my basement went off implying that someone was IN my house. I was about 30 minutes away at the time but thankfully it seems to have been a false alarm. Apparently it costs money when the police are called for alarms... $$ I checked things out and it seems that nobody was trying to get into my house.. I HOPE!!!

9) Because of 1-8 I'm totally on edge about what's going to happen next. Sheer probability would suggest that nothing bad can happen to me again any time soon. No way I have that much bad karma.

Because of #9 i'm awake right now writing this instead of sleeping peacefully. It's not like I live in the HOOD!!!!

If you don't have life insurance, get it now.

with my luck someone would try to cash in on it by offing me. I need to appear worthless

Yeah, i'm kinda afraid to go to sleep. At least when I'm awake I can try to fend off burglars. When i'm asleep they have the upper hand. I need to go robocop or something.

seriously now, you believe in Fate/Karma/God? not saying it has anything to do, in my opinion it's pure coincidence, but sometimes beliefs can affect behavior.

anyhow, maybe Bill Gates threw Curse at you for being so Anti-Microsoft... he can buy everything after all, so why not some nice little Curse?
start being more pro-microsoft and maybe things would start changing!!

Yeah in the global realm my bad luck is sub-average. Doesn't mean I can't complain about it though!! For the record I'm not anti-Microsoft, I'm anti-anti-innovation, pro-capitalist, anti-trust, and I'm anti-deception which means I like the idea of Microsoft competing in the world market, don't like the fact that it has no good ideas, don't like the fact that it uses a heavy hand against other companies, and don't like that it suggest secure computing when we all know that measures could be taken to improving that.

I digress...

Back to my self pity...

i just wanna say - Tough luck mate!!
My advise - See the brighter side!!
For example - burglaers were unable to steal anything and u werent in the car when that lady was enacting Michael Schumacher
