Don't let some nutcase drive you off. I know how frunstrating it can be to have to deal with people like him, so I can completely understand you wanting to step down from moderator, but don't leave because of him. You started this because it was fun, why not go back to just having fun on the boards again? Drop the moderator, create a new account if you feel you must, but don't leave. You enjoy helping people out, and you've really helped out a lot of people here. Don't give up us, we need you...

Well, i can understand where you are coming from, and i am in no position to judge, but on the web it is very easy to right something and it get missentupreted alone the way, I value anyone that is offering their advice and knowledge and it does sometimes help to be kicked up to the bum, but yes there is a time, a place and a way, but the best way to read anything on the web is with tongue in check and not personally.

All i would like to say is Respect!!!!!

looks like the temptation to post here finally overcame Memnoch. I'm not sure if he's officially back but I can say for sure he has posted again in the last couple of days - always faster than anyone as usual - and I'm very glad for that.

And so say all of us!!!!

I don't know if Memnoch reads this thread or not, but I will add my plea as well.

Stay. There are a handful of posters on this forum that have 90% of the knowledge, you are one of them. The forum would be a poorer place without you.

Memnoch, it's obvious from your posts in the various forums that you are a born programmer with exceptional talent, who has made a huge contribution to the education of every person visiting this site. I've been in this game for more years than I care to admit, yet I still continue to learn as I read your replies to the myriad of questions posed in these forums.
I beg you to resume your position as probably the most respected member of ASPFree.

I stumbled on this post yesterday morning and I've only just had time to reply properly. I couldn't believe my eyes when I started to read this post. Memnoch leaving? NO WAY"!!! I've got to be honest, when I read the reason my stomach turned over. I swear this happened. I don't know the full reason why Memnoch has been upset but I'm going to try and find the posts so that I can fully understand.

I'm pretty sure I get the picture and it appears that 1337_d00d has been disagreeing with quite a few of Memnoch's posts and that he has been rude whilst doing so. If this is the correct assumption then there is no reason or excuse what so ever as to why someone needs to be rude to anyone. Especially someone as well respected as Memnoch. I think the comments on this post speak volumes and show the support and respect Memnoch has. I know you are reading this Memnoch and you should take great great satisfaction that people have taken the time and effort to support you and ask you not to leave. The comments are not only from people people like me who use the forum on occassion, there are comments from other members and moderators who have commanded a similar level of respect.
I've got to say that there is a post going on at the moment that I appear have to brought back from the dead. The post that concerns Firefox, etc, ... On this post Memnoch and Shadow are to debating the use of IE and Firefox and the issues connected with this. The main point here is that Shadow and Memnoch are disagreeing to the greater extent but they are doing this in the right way. No rudeness! They are making their points and at the same time being mainly light hearted about it. We all have our opinions and that is fine. But, there is a right way and a wrong way of going about things. Shadow and Memnoch obviously have the intelligence, diplomacy and awareness to be able to put their points across without being personal and rude. Some people have this and some people do not. In my opinion it just shows how intelligent you really are. This is not a slight on 1337_d00d as I do not know the full extent of the posts. If they fail to meet this criteria then I guess this speaks for itself.

Another point that comes from this is that, I think, to disagree with someones post, i.e. To click the scales icon and take reputation points away from someone. The post must be 100% incaccurate and misleading. I cannot imagine this being the case and lets face it, anyone who had a post disagreed with would certainly feel hard done to. Especially a junior like myself.

As I know you are definitely reading this Memnoch, I will say that I can mirror everything everyone else has said and say more. You are 100% invaluable to this forum and you are one of the handful of members that I know I can rely on for some honest, concise and accurate assistance. You are resourceful and quick and definitely a talent. It fills me with glee to be helped by someone as experienced and as professional as you. I am not blowing sunshine up your backside this is evident and your 8000+ posts speak for themselves. I could say the same about others but this post is ABOUT YOU and hopefully saving your departure.

enough and so be it. If the reasons are because you feel you are spending too much time and you are not appreciated. Well this thread speaks for itself. If the reason is because you feel aggreived by the actions of one or two individuals. Please don't let this be the reason. PLEASE!!! Even 1337_d00d has said you shouldn't leave. Although calling you "a silly little girl" probably gives me an insight into what has gone on and the level of criticism that has come your way. Please take great satisfaction in knowing that you are above this and in a way SUPERIOR! If this accurately describes what has actually gone on then you are in my eyes for sure!

It does infact appear that you may be having second thoughts. I certainly hope this is the case and that you do stay. People like me need your help and the confidence you can give us. I've also got to mention one of my posts that Memnoch helped me with a while back. It was with regard to frames and a work around. Basically I asked for help, Memnoch posted a link and then I replied oh well thanks. I actually missed the work around in the link. Memnoch could have ignored this and thought I was lazy and didn't get through it and didn't deserve any more help, but he didn't! He posted back and told me there was a work around. I looked again and I solved my problem. This just shows the level of help people get from you. This coupled with the fact that you create tutorials for people is

fantastic and something we cannot really afford to miss. I'm sure there will be a point when you do have to go, but please let this be the right circumstances. Please Memnoch, please.

One thing I will say to 1337_d00d (Changed name to Phoenix???) Is please please please stay away from any more of Memnoch's posts (I know you have been banned but I guess there will be a way around this for you at somepoint) If you feel you must post against, please don't disagree and please avoid being personal. No one likes it, it's not funny and if you want to do this go and post somewhere more appropriate like a chat room or an under 16's area. That is funny and the answers are appropriate as that's what people are there for. To antagonise, wind up and get a laugh.

As usual I'm not short of something to say, but I really think it has been worth the effort
