How do you know he was warned on that thread?

It's an on-going thing with LP though, he's had it coming for a
while, and it was just bad timing that means the warning came
from Hirsch, it would have been from any one of us, and it would
have been soon...

ps, I've contradicted Sep a couple of times before, I told him to
"stop being such an asshat" in the lounge the day before he awol
missing for a month a while ago...

as for getting rid of the trolls - I tend to disagree in general. having "inner lounge" members can be useful for some reasons:
1. those members keep the "friendly chat" ever burning and supply endless topic, some must be interesting.
2. those members can greet newcomers and explain them the forum rules and stuff like that. not everything is about programming.
3. they're harmless - if someone become offensive toward others or keeps posting total nonsense that's one thing, but as whole it's not like that, as far as I've seen.
so, I still can't see good reason to get rid of "those people who just
roam the lounge without contributing to the community".
and as I said there, quick and painless death (aka permanent ban) is better than the slow and painful process of closing their threads, deleting their posts and not letting them do anything.

sorry to say, but devshed lounge is not for me. I'm out of there - posted about it but considering they removed my other posts they would probably remove that one as well so no point in posting link here.
I can summarize my reasons in one line: no reason to spend my time posting in place where those posts are likely to get deleted. waste of time.
i'll stick here, help the few newbies we get and be happy with that.
