IE refusing to download pdf file
Asks if I want to open or save. If I choose save I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot download........" "Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site..........Please try again later". This occurs every time. I am sure it is either IE security or Norton but I cannot find a solution. I have two systems and downloads are OK on the other - the settings are identical on each of them. Any ideas would be welcomed.

post link to the file and we'll try to see for ourselves. from what you describe,
sounds like server problems. |

well, the PHP is not creating PDF at all, just HTML that redirects to the PDF
using meta tag.. the PDF itself won't open at all on my machine (page freeze) can you please attach it (as zip) so that we can verify it's not problem with the PDF file? Edit: it finally opened in IE (took 6 minutes) thus it's "working".. so I assume it's local problem in the machine. can you download other files? |

No, I have tried several other forms and get the same message. I am running XP, IE7 Beta and Norton Internet Security. My two machines are networked with the offending PC having access to the Internet through my main PC. I use exactly the same software on my main PC and can download the forms on that. Where might the block be on the local machine? Thanks for your help. This second machine is my wife's and she is going spare!

so try removing/disabling Norton Security.
does your main PC (where it works) also have IE7? because I won't be surprised at all if it's IE7 issue. |

Disabling Norton has no effect. Both machines use IE7!

sorry, no more ideas - maybe there is trojan/virus on the computer with
the broken downloads. |

Thanks anyway. I hadn't thought about a virus. Will search for that.
