Install Shield problems

I am trying to install some original software to my PC (OS WinXP Pro) but
instead of the installshield installing software, it tries to uninstall what isnt
there. I'm then getting the error message 'parameter incorrect', does
anybody know of a fix to this problem. Have tried removal of insatllshield
engine and reinstalling an update but still the problem persists.

probably the problem is with the "original software" you're trying to install - you sure it fits to XP? old softwares will most likely crash when installed on brand new opeating systems.

Should install ok. I myself have installed it on my XP Pro system. What seems to be the most annoying part is the add/remove program section is showing the add on pack as installed (8.75Mb) yet a search of the system shows no such install. Or via a manual search no folder of any such name is listed anywhere on the system Would anyone know how to remove this from the add/remove programs section?

I need help my install shield wizard wont let me play any of my games (ragnarok). When ever i patch then and try to play the install wizard keeps popping up in my task bar and the game dont load up after a few seconds my task bar is full and i cant get rid of them otherwise more will appear.

install wizard won't appear when you try to play - this is probably some kind of virus/worm - run full scan for viruses and worms. also check in the Task Manager the name of the Process that is launched, you can identify the virus/worm using this name.
