I think Shadow created a topic about this a while back ago before it came out but now that's out, what's your opinion on it? Who's downloaded it and what do you like/dislike about it?

It is better than the old IE, but nothing that is causing a desperate desire to move away from firefox !!
At least they now have tabbed browsing and they have finally added another colour to the boring blue icon lol ![]()

I hate firefox and the new IE. Of course, the reason being is that I've never been fond of the tabbed interface. I suppose I will have to get used to it as the older versions become depracated but for now I'll stick to IE 6.

I tend to prefer non-tabbed browsers....I always lose where I had that website open...
![]() And when you click a link that opens into a new window, it always opens a new window rather than a new tab anyway, so can't really see the advantage... I understand the Firefox argument, but when you're designing sites, you've got to accept that the majority of users will be using IE, so you've got to test on that platform anyway... I've kept my laptop at IE6 and updated the desktop to IE7, so I can test in both environments, as I doubt everyone will update... btw, I also have firefox and opera installed.... ![]()

I don't like it. I installed it onto a virtual machine so I could test it, hate the tabs. The File menu has now moved and just about everything is different. The tabs are pointless, and it will just cause me a load of problems accidently closing all windows instead of the 1 I want.
Still I guess like everything we will have to get used to it.

It's alright...not the best but definitely an improvement over IE 6.
There are a lot of similarities between IE7 and firefox I wonder where they got them Still, I like Firefox's session recovery at start up....in case the lights go out or windows stops responding and a restart is needed. It fully restores the website you were looking at, including tabs and all...the coolest thing I've seen among many others.

they probably took the same technique to "designing" new ideas for firefox as they did for vista - copy someone else (mac os )yeah i like the session recovery feature too! Definiatly a excellent feature ! |
