That's the attitude that thousands of people that get fired took toward their bosses just before being shown the door. I know you're a smart enough guy to know when to hold your tongue against those people that provide you a service like employment, police, fire department, medical services, etc. I know you know what I'm talking about. Saying otherwise just shows foolishness. I'm sure you're not foolish.

I aint foolish, but I'm no arse-licker either, I do my work and I do it real good, I'm just talking off the semantics off the group discussions that happen on Devshed. So, what your saying is that people like Devshed provide me with a service to type in my opinion to others around the globe and I should be wary off what I type incase I upset them. O.K. here's the deal - bar me if they think I have overstepped the mark, bar me if they think that I have brought the forum into disrepute, bar me from speaking the truth as I see it- now that's a different ball game my friend. Rebel without a cause- hardly; Rebel without a clue - a difference of opinion. I aint a thorn in Devsheds side mearly a annoyance and if this totalitarian admin want to get rid of me then so be it. It aint the end of the world.

I think you took this further than expected. I simply offered my opinion just like you offered yours. You do value my opinion don't you? Just like I value yours? You've done nothing close to offensive so I would never ban you or anything like that if that's what you're talking about. Don't get so excited. Forums are for voicing opinions which I have done, you have done, and we are allowed to do. There are rules as expected but as long as you don't make any of your opinions personal and don't bash the admins (they deserve a lot of respect for what they've provided for us) then I don't think you'll ever have a problem voicing your opinion. Have you cooled off now knowing you're not involved in a totalitarian environment?

Cooled off - I never got heated in the first place. I aint gonna roll over Sham, I still stick by my original comment, I aint in here to nip bites out of the admin. I am well aware of how this forum operates and as to which part I play - meaningless contributer succeptible to any governing changes that may happen without my concent.

I don't follow comments - that is all I am saying, neither does 90% of the members that contribute in here greatly, we are a different kettle of fish, we are not, and hopefully never shall be the same as Devshed although we do fly under its flag. We are a different species in coding terms. There is a border between us and the sooner you realise that then the better all of this can done with and be in the past.

P.S. Sham I know your a good guy and that is why I didn't take anything personally.

I'm glad you realize I'm a good guy and I hope you realize that everyone here is a good guy (or girl). I just don't understand what you feel you're rebelling against. I don't think there is anything to rebel against? These forums aren't governments with iron fists. They're forums. Are you just disappointed by a particular post in DevShed? Maybe you can post the URL and shed some light on what you find unappealing (while respecting those posters' opinions obviously).

I'd expect nothing less just like you won't see me bat an eye at opposition to my original comment.

I aint rebelling against nothing just defending my post - that when most of the top dogs post on Devshed, those that had an apparent different opinion, up until the top-of-the-tree suddenly post their opinion, a remarkable toe the line job is in hand and a fresh view on the subject takes place.

That was all. I am perfectly within my rights to voice these opinions. We are a different fish from Devshed, they have their territory and we have ours. Ours is a more friendly environment, that is a just a personal opinion.

As it was pointed out to me recently, that a person on Devshed may get up in the morning and start derepping somebody because that person and their partner didn't get it on the night previously and also throw a few expletives into the bargain just for good measure. Now I find that funny, if I wanted to take my frustrations out on anything it certainly would'nt be a keyboard.

These are minor issues Sham and I aint getting that heated up about them, just that I have a right to view them as well as Devshed has a right to slate us.

Totally agree. I'll always back up your right to voice those opinions as long as they follow the forum's logical rules. I'm sure that will never become an issue. Happy opinion posting

As a mod on devshed, and someone who has a fair bit o' rep there, I have to ask if you can point to any instances of sheep-following-the-herd?

There's some very good discussions happening around the place ( especially in The Outhouse ), yes some people get derepped for having unpopular opinions, but that's life, and IMO that tells you more about the person who did the derepping.

I'm also surprised by the reputation the 'shed has for being unfriendly. FWIW, don't be scared & drop on by.

well, there is big difference between devshed and here: the reputation there became
100% game and points tossed around without much thinking. kind of "never ending"
rep fest. nothing wrong in that, but here reputation still mean something to the
members, and I believe most of the active members here in aspfree will never
de-rep other member without really really good reason.
