Hey Guys - I was just wondering - if at work you have started to use Linux Servers - and if so, which Distribution of Linux and for what purpose. Cheers - Mark Smith

I've been messing about with Fedora on my own server at home.
I have got Apache, PHP, MySQL and Bind DNS working reasonably
easily.

I understand that the debian distro while not the most modern
in terms of its packages, is rock solid

I use Fedora also. The only problem with using Fedora for customers is the short upgrade cycle, you have to update the version a couple times a year.

The only major distro I've used is VMWare virtual appliance of Suse SE9 + mySQL.

That was a while back and there are many updated appliances.
It's an easy way to test out distros
