Ahh, Atlantis, that would be really cool!

Mine is not actually a myth, I just would like to know, what lies in the deepest corners of the ocean, what huge fishies and things that might be swimming there!

All this stuff about the Holy Grail fasinates me. I keep intending to read the Da Vinci Code that hypothesises that the Grail was actually the son/daughter of Jesus Christ. Just imagine that if this was true, his bloodline could still be knocking around. Unfortunately, it's just a theory but it sounds like interesting reading. Anybody read it here?

That is a really interesting theory, I work for in a reporting company, in the IT dep(thanx goodness), we draw up charts of the top100 books sold in South Africa.

Da Vinci Code, has been selling number 1 for about 7weeks now! Everybody in the office has read it, except me. I think we must all read that book if we can

ditto, this can be amazing, if proved to be true. but I suspect it might all fall one day and proven to be just another try of scientists to explain things they simply have no clue how to explain.
and this is also related to Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, which was great book to read... although the author didn't intend to use any String Theory.

As for my myth, I wonder sometimes if true magic ever existed - all the witch stories, and stories about powerful wizards in the Middle Ages - who knows, maybe one can really use the mind in ways that science can't explain? ppl with supernatural powers do exist, science can't deny it. same for healing powers - having someone with real healing powers is one possibility that fascinates me. christians claim that Jesus had such powers, for example - so what if that isn't only a myth? but on the other hand, until we find someone with such proven powers, it would still be mystery.

I've read The Da Vinci Code, and I thought it was excellent. Although I did read it when it very first came out, when I'd heard nothing about it, had no expectations (having not read a Dan Brown book before), and without knowing what the big secret was.

If I had not yet read it I don't think I would find it as enjoyable due to the amout of hype it has had. I'd begin reading it expecting it to be the best book ever, and knowing what the secret is. Not knowing what the secret was, made the book extremely interesting.

True enough. I've ordered it anyway plus another Dan Brown

The Da Vinci Code book is actually just a rehash of two existing (and unpopular) theories... he just mashed them together along with a sensationalist plotline and didn't give credit to the original theorists.

I'll post a link as soon as I find my source (it was from the BBC anyway)

Hmm, one myth I'd like to debunk... where did the whole idea of dragons come from? I think its rather spooky how both european and chinese civilisations came up with the concept of giant, winged, and scaled lizards without actually coming into contact with each other.
