I don't know if it's the largest ever, but it's bigger than anything else I've ever seen:

IBM T221
3840x2400

It's big enough to fit 4 full HDTV channels on the screen.

It also costs $8500.

I don't remember, it was some giagantic video subsystem from I think Hitachi. It was quite a few years ago, it seems to me the screen was over 4000 x 4000 resolution, but I'm not any kind of expert on video.

There are some applications like wall displays that require very large resolution, I believe.
