Members List problem?
While checking the Members List, I noticed it contains very few users - probably only those who registered long time ago... why is that? isn't it supposed to be dynamic/database driven??
*confused* |

Hmm that's interesting. There are actually around 27,000 members in total. It should be dynamic and it should include all users, as long as they haven't been banned etc.

It appears that the memberlist is really only showing Mods and Active users.

not Active users but rather "Contributing" Users, i.e. users with over 100 posts who're registered for at least 90 days. however, one weird thing:
FrankieShakes Contributing User 0 how come that user with 0 posts was granted "Contributing User"?? anyway, if it's a bug should we contact an admin? |

I've already notified the admins about this and they've disabled the member list completely for the time being.

*sob*
but why would they do such thing?? it does not cost you anything to display the members list... or does it? |

Hmm I wouldn't have thought so. The members list was so small because the registered users (those without permissions to have an avatar/signature) weren't being displayed. But now they've turned off the members list across all the forums.

well, they should remove the link then... it's just make ppl think they can see the members list. oh well... one less nice feature.

it's nice to be able to see list of all members... dunno - just habit I developed over the years. never claimed it's vital, just nice addition to the forum. if they really fear for bandwidth and server overload, the admins can make this forum look like ASP101, R.I.P - this was the most primitive forum I've seen, maybe because it was one of the first built with ASP and it was never upgraded.
