we upgraded our diginet line today from 256 to 768, its gonna
take 5 minutes the guys said, whatever. a hour later, he phones me it has been done, I do some speed tests, the line if freaking slower than before, phone the ppl again. "No, everything is done sir, its working well". I phone 6 different departments, and 3 hours later a guy phones me back; "Sir, your router only supports a line up to 512, you need a new router". This is after they tested everything and said we don't need a new router. R13000/month for this sh!t, be glad you dont live in SA and have to work with Telkom!!!!! Feel better already, lets just hope this page refreshes ![]()

wow this really sucks! but even if the router support only up to 512 Kb/Second

Nope, it's every telecom. I "upgraded" my home DSL from 3m to 6m, and my speeds went down to 1.5m.
Took a week for them to figure out that the wiring in my neighborhood wouldn't support 6m. |

Telecom companies are about the $$$, simple as that. They generally sell you on the top service, even if it is not as advertised... false adverstisement at its best! Needless to say, it is not always that case, but generally, what has been said prior to this comment, is relatively true everywhere.

I'm surprised about the need for a new router. I have FIOS, running through a $50.00 D-Link router and got these results from speakeasy.net

![]() not sure about everything, they said their going to upgrade the line to 512KBps so long, but guess what... ![]() Oh well, hopefully will get sorted today, glad I am not the only one having trouble with this ![]() |
