oracle,access.....

there are certainly different database's available but is it possible to rate them or compare them
for ex: oracle vs access

and one more thing
the sqlstatements i am right now using for oracle are they the same for the rest of the db's

no they are not the same for some function example : Sysdate() in Oracle is replaced by Date() in access.
you dont have rollback possibility in acces but you have em in Oracle
so you cant "Commit" in access

and Access is crap if you gotr more than 10 users at the same time

I would agree with GazouTG, in that you can't compare Oracle and Access, they serve different purposes and fulfill different needs.

I would disagree with GazouTG about the comment about more then 10 users at a time. If designed correctly you can push the limitations that many feel exist.

Every DB has its good points and bads, each are designed to fulfill specify needs.

Determine what you needs are, how much $ you are willing to spend and select the DB and design tool you need according to those specifications.
