outlook express

I am hoping someone out there can help. What happened was that suddenly folders in Outlook Express were suddenly empty. The dbx files are still there and seem to be about the right size to have information in them. The strange thing was that only some mail disappeared - not all of it. I have run the dbxtract program and it is not extracting anything? The dbx files that still show as having mail in them extract using the utility but for example one file that is just over 3MB runs as pass throughout and then no extractions occur. Have you ANY idea of the problem???

mods: for the windows forum perhaps ?

what utility are you referring to ? did you run any 3rd party disk clean up app that is likely to have cleaned out your application data folder ?

What versions of Outlook express and Windows ?
