pc moniter troubles

well i logged off my sisters account to go on mine earlier today and 'wrrrr click' as the moniter changes resolution. however this time it kept clicking. eventually the screen came back on and everything was super stretched mega widescreen style. i quickly went to moniter size and mushed it back onto the screen however i now have a problem.

the right side of the screen is very compressed, everything is mushed in. ie. my clock is barely legible and there is a very bright light coming from the right of the screen.

changing resolution this problem goes away, however i don;t want a bloody 1280x1024 resolution on my 15inch moniter - i want my eyes to work.

any ideas?

oh yeah i'm running an LG flatron 795

I know this isn't really fixing the problem... but you can run in 1280 x 1024 and just turn the default sizes for everything up.

It's not an ideal solution, but it'll work.

PS I'm running 15" at 1280 X 1024 at the windows default settings and it's not that bad.
