Purpose of life

so guys, i am fairly board and wanted a debate on life, i want to see who beleives in what and what motivates people in life.

so ill start with me, i personally beleive in god, and all that stuff.
my theory behind that is the fact that there must be more to life, than working 9 to 5, and then just dying, its a scary thought dont you think, to beleive that when we die, thats it. if that is the case then what is the point of living as a decent human being, why dont we all steal and pillage!

I am a Christian and so it kinda goes without saying I believe in God. I believe that there is much much more than working 9-5 both now and after death !!! I believe that Jesus died for our sins so that we may go to heaven.

there is no divine or global purpose to us as human beings in my
opinion... like any other living thing we fight for our survival and
making our life better.

each person has different purpose in life: some believe in God or
something similar and live according to that God's commands.
others live only for themselves, trying to gain personal wealth
and power.

as for myself, my purpose is to get married at some point and
bring children... can't avoid the instinct you know.

be punished. without law and punishment system, chaos will be
anywhere believe me.

Yep, that's it. Be born, live, eat, drink, work, pay taxes, die. Sorry, life doesn't include more than that. However, to many people the stuff between "be born" and "die" are quite enjoyable so they wouldn't appreciate someone infringing on their right to do so. Hence laws. Laws (or to judaochristians [jews and christians] the commandments and other rules) are designed to keep people in line so as not to infringe on the rights of others to enjoy their lives.


Well, you wouldn't want me to plunder and pillage and all that to you =P some say it's "kill or be killed" but I say it's "let's get along or I'll kill ya" =p We can all coexist if we stop being so selfish and greedy. Fat chance though

yep i agree. I just believe in myself and thats more than enough.

but for me, i beleive in the lord and and as a christian i beleive jesus died for our sins. its interesting hearing other peoples views, and hey i may not be right, for me it gives me strength to get through days , that would otherwise be impossible.
this is an interesting subject and im just interested in other peoples views, im not trying to change anyone, i just like to see what motivates, people.
can i ask another question! have any of you ever seen a ghost?
if the answer is yes then , what are they and why do they exist? why have so many peope seen them. to me thats just another sign of our all powerful god. i guess well never know untill its to late to tell anyone, hey guys?

Hey, Deano. Have you ever had that experience when your hair stands up on the back of your neck and your senses run into overtime and you feel that someones there beside you, you turn around and their isn't another person to be seen, I've had that. Freaked me out.

Don't know what the hell it was - did a google search and seemingly we as Human Beings are sensitive to low frequencies around us and that plays havoc with our nervous system - kinda like an invisible alarm system we have around us. I just know that I sensed something that wasn't visible to my eyes that night and it still makes me shudder to think of it.
