Recover files
I need to recover some files after formatting my HD.
Is there any way I can do it without having to pay for software? The question is Can I do it alone? Thank you... Edit: Newer windows have been installed now on that PC. Last edited by Dragon Rider : October 5th, 2006 at 06:03 AM. |

There is a lot of Data Recovery out there, although I am
not sure how much is free. data recovery software But if you have overwritten the data, you are unlikely to get it back |

yeap... I have already searched and I found a program that it says it can recover your files even if you have re-installed windows and it is that:
http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ but you have to pay for it... and another one (free): http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm that I don't know if it can do it because of I have overwritten the data... i was just asking because I wanted to know if someone knows something better, before I try those I've found. Thank you elija... |

Maybe try one of these:-
http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/s...tarecovery.html or these:- http://www.snapfiles.com/Shareware/...tarecovery.html A couple of these have free trials etc. Good Luck... ![]()

alot of those free trials are jokes ... you install them, run them, they tell you they found X amount of files to recover then the small print comes into play: in order to recover these files, you must purchase the software.
i've been there DR ... so i can empathize with you. good luck.

Might be able to find out if they are, at least recoverable though. |

I have used http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html in the past as it's a stand-alone application and will run off my USB key. It's free but may not have the capabilities to do what you desire.

tbh DR, from experience i would give up now! Without paying for something you are unlikely to have any success i am afraid !
Osrry to be blunt!
