Save the Internet? (Net Neutraility)
Anyone heard of this?
http://www.savetheinternet.com/ According to this website congress is giving into "lobbyists" to let internet providers companies do what they wish while providing the service you already pay for. For instance AOL could block out google and force AOL users to use the AOL search engine. Cox could slow downloads from iTunes down and promote that their music download service is much faster which would move customers to their service. Full text of Senate bill S. 2917 and House bill H.R. 5252. For those who actually care I would recommend writing your Congressman/woman. On a side note and not to distract from the original post: And if you don't think you voice matters go talk to all the members at SEMA who sucessfully saved the 30 year rule for old cars not having to smog. You voice does matter, you just don't know it cause you've never used it inconjuction with other people who care.

First let me say that if you're using AOL, then you deserve to get screwed by them. LOL. But for the rest of us, I definitely don't like limitations that ISPs can try to put on us. You need to know a little about politics to know what a lobbyist is. A lobbyist is essentially someone hired usually by a corporation, for instance let's say Pepsi, and this person works with legislators, who are the lawmakers, and tries to influence them to vote on legislation that will either help Pepsi or not endanger them financially. I just use Pepsi as an example so I'm not poking at them. But I have heard about this legislation that badboypolar is talking about.
