Well, that' what I meant by properly. I knew they were able to process them, but I think there were problems when a customer tried to pay by MC sometimes. You're saying that the problems is fixed now, that's very good indeed. Is it just me or does ikobo seem to be improving their services lately?

I am a relatively old ikobo customer (I was not at the very beginning with them) but my opinion about them is that they are trying to better their services and it shows in the increasing number of customers. They are cheap, very fast and cover 170 countries. Who would not choose them? (I want to underline that this is my own opinion and I am not advertising).

I see, so it's true isn't it. They are improving their services. That is a good thing indeed, I suppose this show they're serious about their business and are here to stay.

BTW, did you know there is a way to integrate ikobo with OSCommerce and use it in a OSC virtual store as payment option? I ran into this module while doing some searches on the web. I looks interesting, maybe I'll give it a try myself. Anyway, the module is located here: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2440/page,7

Let me know if you find this useful.

Smile

I already use this ikobo payment module on several of my shops. The makers did a good job.

Really, that's great. So I guess this means it works well since you're using it. Eh well, I don't see why it wouldn't, I mean both ikobo and OSC are serious players in this business. Anyway, thanks for the info, I guess I wasn’t that helpful after all.

Could you please instruct me in the correct procedure to install this module? Thanks!

Well, you already have an readme text file with the installation instructions but I will tell you anyway It's very simple, you just unzip it and copy the containing folder into your cart root folder. After that go to your control panel, and select payment modules and then click on ikobo module and click install. You must also configure it after you installed it.

OK, thanks! I'll get right on it. I hope I can get it to work. I've always wanted to be able to use OSCommerce with my current payment processor. Guess the time is here to do it!

Thanks, apparently I didn't need that much luck since the setup was quite easy and straight forward. Now I've got a little shop-in-the making on OSCommerce and I'm using ikobo as a payment gateway. I think I'm quite set for now, but this project of mine still needs a lot of work.

Some guys say that Ikobo have solved the Mastercard problem. I do not know if it is true. Do you guys have any customers who make purchases on your online store with Mastercard?

It's true. The MasterCard processing problems have been solved a while ago. I personally know of a few people who have used MC's to make purchases and each time it has worked. The same thing has been said by everyone else I asked, including ikobo of course. I think it's pretty safe to assume it's up and running again.

Well, apparently ikobo won't stop improving their service. I got this e-mail a couple of days ago. Great indeed, if I'm reading this correctly in the end this should mean more sales for merchants, right? Anyway, here's the e-mail in case someone didn't get it:
Quote:
Receive payments through one simple process
Beginning November 15, 2004, all money received by a merchant wil be
considered a sale. The sender/buyer will not pay a fee unless you
choose to transfer fees to the buyer. You will be charged iKobo's
low merchant rate of 2.99% plus 29 cents for all transactions.
This will allow merchants to easily receive payments through our
personal money transfer platform. For example, your buyers can now
go to iKobo.com and send you money. They will not be required to go
through our initial verification process by calling their bank. They
will not be required to pay any fee to send you money, unless you
indicate in your account that you wish to pass 10-100% of the fee to
them. In your iBalance and websales activity report, the transaction
will appear immediately as a websale.

Yes, I agree. I also received this newsletter and was very happy because I definitively have more clients now. I see that ikobo really improves their service. I think buyers will be happy too because they will buy our products fast and easy.

I noticed a slight increase in orders too. It may be a coincidence, then again it may be thanks to the easy payment procedure. After all, I've had a couple of complaints before, when customers found the old system too awkward. Not anymore!

I don't think this was a coincidence. I was expecting this because of their simplification of the buying process. Many people don't like to be verified and checked just because they want to buy, let's say a 5$ ceramics figurine. So, this made their lives much easier...
