Well, blocked accounts are generally a result of users inability to follow instructions. As I've read, most of these complaints come from users who either didn't submit the documentation necessary for verifying their identity or from those who tried to create more than one account (this automatically results in the account being blocked). However there are some who just got their accounts blocked for no apparent reason.
It didn't happen to me though... I guess I did everything right.

So from what you said I can draw the conclusion that ikobo has a very strict security system. And I suppose even if the account is blocked for no apparent reason, the company just tries to prevent possible fraud.
At least it’s my opinion

Well, strict or not, I've never had any security-related problems so far. Frauds are not as common with ikobo as with the more popular paypal. I suppose the reason could be exactly that, popularity, the more people use a system, the more frauds it will get. Anyway, once you've sent the documents and verified your identity I think you're all set and shouldn't encounter any problems.

I am asking about it as I read many posts where people were complaining about blocked accounts. But as far as I understand blocked account is not just an occasion, that’s the way of protection against possible fraud. And that’s the price they have to pay for covering 170 countries.

I understand and I know what you mean. I thought it was a little weird at first also, until I realized it's part of ikobo's way to protect its users.

I suppose you're right, having so many countries to service, especially ones with financial problems and so on, a good security system is a must.

Sorry, I was away for a while.
And I made some researches about verification. I guess all the companies ask their customers about it. For instance, paypal customers have to verify their accounts before withdrawing large amounts of money.

So basically there's no way to escape these verifications... Although a little annoying sometimes, I suppose they're a must for all serious business since nobody wants to wake up one day without any money in their account. Speaking of withdrawing, did anyone raise their send/receive limits and if so, how?

Yes, I think all the customers are interested in the fast verification process.
And as to raising limits it all depends on your account type and what limits you want to have.
If you have a personal account you need to submit some documents (you can find the form for raising limits in the ikobo account).
For the merchant account this process is as following: add a credit card to your account, then click on the “verify now” link; the card will be charged the verification amount and you have to call your bank to get this amount. Then login to your iKobo account and verify it. After that your limits will be raised.

In today's world everybody's looking for faster this and faster that, and I don't see why ikobo would be any different. For us as merchant, whatever measures they take to facilitate the customer's buy procedure are very welcome.

Thank you for the information you've provided about raising my limits. I have already verified my credit card, it worked pretty much as you said, but now I was considering about raising my limits. I'll give it a try and tell you how it went.

Thanks again!

If I am not mistaken after the merchant verifies his credit card, his limits must be raised... but actually as you use the company you should be aware of the process. So I can be wrong about this.

Yes, you're right, but I also have to send some documents and I haven't had the time to make copies of them. This is why I said I only verified my credit card. Once I send these as well I will have my limits raised.

Sorry about not posting. I've been away on some business that's why I haven't posted. I was about to raise the ikobo send/receive limits last time; I've already done this by now, went without any problems. It didn't take that much to raise them, it was done in a day by the time I sent the documents.

I appreciate your concern and don't worry everything is ok. How is everybody else doing? Any progress?
