Actually I think if you were to check the lounge posts for the past couple of says you would quite possibly find and even greater percentage. These ASP guys seem to like to keep the nose to the grind stone, no gab in 'em.

And once again the thread turns to new topic, welcome to the lounge.

Dune, one of my favorites. I actually got into it with the old 80s flick which nobody seems to like. Read the books and they blew me away. Their social commentary, religion, politics. I felt honored to be able to even read them. I actually went through it with a high lighter and multiple bookmarks thinking "this man must be insane to be this good"

I had read some strange thing awhile ago however that it was no his intention to make a spice-oil connection though, but rather a water-oil connection. Could be wrong, could be a joke, but thought I had heard it. What do ou think?

ps, also not getting what beckams getting at with the whole spice taking care of flames thing

I've never read Dune.

yep Dune is the best saga I've read. very deep, very realistic (in its own way) and give you endless things to ponder about. however all my friends who read it said it's boring... I feel pitty for them for not being able to see through the shallow lines.
actually, I have read 10 out of the current 11 books and the final book is waiting on my shelf until I finish Angels&Demons. anybody here read all the sequels as well?

In have read the original 5 books of the Dune Chronicles. Nothing from the house trilogy and nothing from the Legends of Dune Series. I heard mixed reviews but look forward to reading them for myself. I take it you felt them worthy of a read, what did you think?

I have not read anything else by Brian Herbert, but I did read Andersons Star Wars Trilogy. A Decent Read, but not nearly as intoxicating as the Zahn trilogy which I felt was just amazing.

But back to the Dune books. Loved The first 3 the most of course. 4 was a great deal slower moving but I understood the message it was trying to convey about lonliness and because of that I think it saved it for me. Heritics, the last seemed to be moving a little off, the finish was a bit anti climatic and I woul say more, but I don't want to ruin anything for potential readers.

As for cake, cake is good. I like to have it, and then eat it as well. sometimes I will eat it with milk.

Did anybody see that? Can he do that? You can't- I mean, you're not supposed to- Did you just reference the actual topic of an unrelated thread in the lounge (which itself has gone completely off track per usual)? Consider my mind blown - b-con, get in here and clean up this mess, start talking about how you don't like to read books; rather, you prefer eBooks or something. blasphemy Gosling, blasphemy
