The Davinci Code

Hey All, I just watched an interesting documentary on the Discovery Channel about Dan Brown's book ' The Davinci Code'.

Haivng read the book last year, and with the film in its final conclusions before release, I was wondering if anyone had any points of view about this subject - strong or otherwise.

I like to have an open mind on most subjects, and this book has, if anything, opened a can of worms on numerous talking points, i,e. Christ's Lineage, The Mary Magdelene conspiracy, The Gnostic Gospels, the Masonic Order, How 4th Century Catholcism appointed Paganism beleifs into our modern day Bible, Opus Dei ans so on.

Would love to hear your views on any of the above topics or many more which I have not covered.

I'm still waiting for a paperback release

Where you stationed Doug, its been in paperback in the UK since about Easter.

I'm in Southern California in the US. It's not out here in paperback that I'm aware of, the hardback was still on the NY Times bestseller list this week.

as neutral observer (I'm not christian) I can say the book was excellent and very
interesting... I did have general background about Christ and all the story and the book
made perfect sense to me.

Not read it but my better half has and she enjoyed it, i belive she is on the second book of dan browns (no idea what its called) and that is supposidly just as gripping

it's probably called Angels&Demons and it's much better than the first.

Just bought the book from Amazon last week, still waiting for it. I searched these forums and devshed's forums and this book was brought a few times.

Sounds like a great/interesting book to read.

It certainly grips you, its been years since a book like the davinci Code has blown me away, guess the last book to do that was George Orwell's 1984.
