The Frustration Rant

I get frustrated/hate from:

1. People that ask "I want a website like myspace, will someone tell me (or send me a tutorial) on how to make it"
2. When you write out an entire solution and test it on your own time and get no rep for it.
3. When you write out the solution to someone and they dont even try to use it and just say it doesn't work and re-ask their question again.

4. People who don't hold the door for you or ask what floor your going to in an elevator and just stand there in the way.
5. People who smack their food.
6. Someone that cuts me off in their car with her cell phone in one hand and makeup, cigarette in the other.
7. Having to work late because of someone else's mistakes.
8. My boss.

LOL Don't get me started... these last few weeks have been rough.
1. Bosses that are only present when they have something negative to say.
2. Meetings
3. Two-faced people (especially bosses).
4. Snitches that spend all their time looking for mistakes then tattle to their boss to get brownie points.
5. People that do their make-up while driving a car (or use cell phones while driving).
6. Construction crews that "work" during rush hour (work used loosely as much of the time it's one guy working and the rest watching or all having a coffee break).
7. People who think they are entitled to anything just because they exist ("the world owes me syndrome").
8. Famous people that use their fame to subject the rest of us to their opinions when not asked for them.

I was very nice about all the things I had to rant about because I didn't konw how the forum would take it, but if laura is on it, I will write the rest!

BTW, all of this crap is happening to me today, I feel like my head is going to explode.

Just one more right now:

1. Totally undo-ing the iinefficient and slow code from programmers my boss thought were so good so that my reports now run under 1 second instead of over a minute and your boss says, "but it says 01/2007 instead of 1/2007 like I want it to" (which he said a week ago to do 2 digit months, not the one digit like now) after you show him the change... I hate my boss, I can't wait until I wrap this project up and go get another job (hint: anyone in texas?).

I hate that too! I had a boss that would tell me to do something a certain way. Then when I did that, he'd say "you know, I don't like it that way, change it". Now I have many bosses that do the same thing, so as you can tell my situation has improved

• People that like to belittle others to make themselves feel better
• Construction workers that are blocking lanes of traffic during rush hour (this should be done on a night shift)
• People that ask for help and either won't acknowledge your response or don't even try it
• People that drive too slow, don't pay attention to the road, talk on their cell phone while driving, people who are in such a hurry to get to the red light just down the road
• People who are caught red-handed doing something they shouldn't and then try to deny it when confronted about it

There's more, but this is good for now. The last one, I'm going to tell you about 'cause it's funny.

Two ladies at work ordered privacy screens. Supposedly this was to prevent the glare from the ceiling lights (but actually made the glare worse). They also put one on the only computer in the area that has Internet connectivity. Our boss walked over to that computer the other day and caught one of them with the screen turned slightly and saw her doing non-work related tasks. Obviously a little upset, he said loudly, "personal stuff, huh? Mind if I get on there to send out these reports?" Today we all got an e-mail stating not to use the screens on that computer anymore and that people were being tempted to "abuse" their use.

The one who got caught e-mailed the whole group back stating that she didn't think anyone would "abuse" the screens and started complaining about having migraines from the light and that these screen really help her. That's the type of sh!t that really urkes me. Her and the other lady are always doing school work and e-mailing friends (for hours) instead of getting things done.

Problem is, if your boss says they can't use the screens and then this woman gets a migraine, she'll probably be able to sue the company for about $10m.....I have to say the litigious society you have in America is a joke....

If I was the President, this lawsuit bullsh!t would be gone...you can sue somebody for practically anything here and it's just plain ridiculous.

Anway, she won't file a lawsuit against the government, especially when three of us have noticed her wrong-doing on our computer systems

I remember hearing about a case on the radio a few years back where a woman was suing her plastic surgeon for about $20m because he made her look too beautiful!!!

I reckon she'd have a good case in US J...Whatever she's doing on the computer would be irrelevant...If she could prove she wouldn't have got a migraine if she'd used the screen and had been told she couldn't use it, whose fault is it??

And goverment is probably the easiest target because they've got so much money, paying for an anti-glare screen, or whatever they are, would be nothing to them....

The one's that make me laugh are where someone sues a company because it didn't say in some instructions not to do something...Like, it didn't say not to put my cat in the microwave and when I did it exploded!!!

That's horrible about the woman and total bullsh!t as well. If you are willing to have plastic surgery, then you will accept the risks. We are human beings for crying out load, nobody is perfect...even if they accidentally make you "perfect"!

As for the government being the easiest target...what have you been smoking? Our government gets away with murder! lol besides, the government would surely terminate her employment for abusing government time. If there are eyewitnesses that see that she is abusing the fact that she has a privacy screen (three of us have witnessed it), then she has no case, regardless if she got a migraine from it or not. Trust me, I know how the American government works...I work for them ououououououou in yo' face, non-American! (just playing, of course, double r )

What I don't understand is, practically everybody agrees that you shouldn't drive while distracted by a cell phone conversation...then why do people still do it?? Next year it becomes illegal in Calif. unless you use a hands-off unit (although that still doesn't address the distraction problem) and it will be totally illegal for drivers under the age of 18.

Now, my main irritant is when someone asks for help with a problem that is clearly related to a query, I ask them to post their query, then they come back and just continue arguing about what they think isn't working. I've had to ask twice in a few cases. I would think that if someone is asking for help, they would be cooperative with whoever is taking the trouble to try to help them.

[Edit:]Oh, as for bosses: have patience, some day you will retire and then the problem goes away. Unless you're married.
