Think for a while!!!!!!!!!
Is this our life
Think for a while Code:
Around the corner I have a friend, In this great city that has no end, Yet the days go by and weeks rush on, And before I know it, a year is gone. And I never see my old friends face, For life is a swift and terrible race, He knows I like him just as well, As in the days when I rang his bell. And he rang mine but we were younger then, And now we are busy, tired men. Tired of playing a foolish game, Tired of trying to make a name. "Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim Just to show that I'm thinking of him." But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes, And distance between us grows and grows. Around the corner, yet miles away, "Here's a telegram sir," "Jim died today." And that's what we get and deserve in the end. Around the corner, a vanished friend. Is this my life |

good one sheeba! makes one think about our lives in those modern times.
and the answer is yes - this is life, for good and for bad. it's very hard to keep in touch with all the people you know and invest enough time in each and every one of them.... at some point you have to make tough decisions and make priorities, otherwise you're drowning. |

I don't think that this is life. We are busy, that's true, but for the people that really matter to us we always find the time, even if just a little.

of course - but note what you've said:
Quote:
problem is, what is "really matter to us"? you can't have too many people that really matters to you, because you won't have time and power for all of them - you have to decide this and set priorities, like I said. ![]() |

And you, as the moderator, are always right. ![]() I think that the type of situation the original post was talking about wasn't real in case that Jim guy was important to the writer. But then again, I hated literature classes in highschool.. |

I think Jim represents "temporary" friend - you know, people you know for certain time span which may be couple of months to couple of years but afterward, each go in his/her own separate ways. best example in our place is the army - in there, you know people for three whole years, usually becoming quite good friends with some of them, but after the army usually there's no further connection. from experience, although I wanted to keep in touch it simply did not happened (lo histader).

But some people do keep in touch with their friends from the army.. Just like some people keep friends from the university ![]() |
