tough decisions - what would be your decision in crisis?
not really a game, more like discussion. I describe possible situation
and the available choices, and you explain what you'll choose. Background: (idea taken from Dune: The Battle of Corrin)
Your options:
my choice would be #2 - those hostages are doomed anyway... it's not likely they will ever be rescued. in the long range, it's better to lose 1000 people now than millions in the future. |

Although, it doesn't seem right, and I would want to save the hostages, I would have to save the millions of others. I would hope to try and find a way to save the hostages, but if there were none, they would be done...cookies

I'd figure out a way to fight from a different direction not endangering the hostages.

I'd just send the SAS in.
They'd whoop *** and rescue everyone to pave the way for my Devastators to go in and muller everyone else... ![]()

I would have to agree with Shadow. Think long term and save as many as possible.

interesting responses, guys... but looks like I didn't make myself
clear enough. Quote:
no different direction... the hostages will 100% die if you attack. no special forces as well... it's either fight, kill your enemy and sacrifice the hostages, or back down and give up, delaying the battle to unknown time in the future. quite black and white situation. nice link, Chief... interesting to mention that I just now read the reason for the hatred between the Harkonnen and the Atredies houses... ![]() bottom line of this discussion is whether you're willing to sacrifice your people for greater cause, or not... as I said tough decision. |

Yup, I would still have to go with option number 2. |

<aside>
So, you're reading the book, but do you play the game, Shadow? I used to love Dune and DuneII - I never got round to playing 2000 though, but it looks quite good from the link I posted... Are you into RTS games? I'd play your at Zero Hour if you're up for it! |
